Letter grade scale
Whole letters: 90–100 is an A, 80–89 a B, 70–79 a C, 60–69 a D, and below 60 an F. With plus and minus, the top three points of each band earn a plus (87–89 is B+) and the bottom three a minus (80–82 is B−); A+ starts at 97. Teachers can set different cut-offs, so treat the letter as the common default.
How much each question is worth
Divide 100 by the number of questions. On a 20-question test each one is worth 5 points; on a 50-question test, 2 points; on a 30-question test, 3.33 points.
