What percent raise is $20 to $22 an hour?
10%. The $2 increase divided by the old $20 rate is 0.10.
Why is my real raise lower than raise minus inflation?
Because the two compound rather than subtract. A 6.25% raise with 3% inflation is a real raise of 3.16%, slightly less than the 3.25% you get by subtracting.
